Ten Lepers Healed, One Comes Back

Text: Luke 17:11-19

Reflection and Question: On the way to His death, Jesus healed ten lepers. Only one turned back to thank Him and Jesus commends the faith of this Samaritan. As the Brief Statement of Faith (The Book of Confessions) puts it, “Jesus proclaimed the reign of God [by] eating with outcasts.” Who are the Samaritans or outcasts of our time and how can you become Christ to them?

Prayer: Holy Jesus, help us to show compassion to the outcasts and the sick. And when it is we who are in need of healing, may we, like the Samaritan, turn back to thank You and be blessed, amazingly, again. Amen.
